The course "Keystone B: Earthquake Resistant Tower" invites NTUCE sophomores who are interested in structural and earthquake engineering to explore the essential elements of seismic-resistant structures.
In the first half of the semester, students will participate in a seismic design competition and learn the fundamental theory of Structural Dynamics, numerical simulation, material testing, and shaking table tests. Through the practical applications, students will understand how to evaluate the seismic strength of tower structures.
In the second half of the semester, the course focuses on optimizing the structural design of seismic-resistant towers by maximizing the capability-price ratio. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the structural dynamic characteristics and the importance of structural configuration in the seismic design.
This course offers two registration options:
1. Team Registration (four members)
2. Individual Registration
Due to the enrollment limitation, the students who sign up in a team of four may have priority to enroll the course.
This course will be conducted in English. |
